Inspiring Story: The Mouk of Papua New Guinea
This week’s inspiring story, in correlation with the meme created by Miss Szymanski, is about the Mouk, a tribal group in New Guinea. Like other primitive peoples, they were portrayed by the media as living in perfect bliss and nomadic happiness, being “one with Mother nature.” They do not tell what torturous fear those people live in. Missionaries Mark and Gloria came to live among the Mouk tribe; they learned their language and culture, then they presented the Gospel message. This video does a better job than I could, so please watch it through! Watch how Mark and Gloria systematically presented the Gospel, and how the Mouk responded. If possible, do some research on this story. Those people were so hungry!
It made me cry. How about you? How will you respond to the Gospel, and to the multitude of hungry souls?
Oh, Alice. My husband and I are sitting here blubbering like babies. What an incredible story. And it makes me cry all the more when I think of how the gospel is treated in America.
Thank you for posting this.
I watched this last night with my husband, we had to wait a few hours to see the whole thing,(dial-up) but it was so worth the wait. We reacted with JOY and teary eyed too when the Mauk people believed. It was so neat that they were able to come to the same conclusion about Abraham & Isaac sacrifice scene. God was revealing Himself through His word and they were seeking Him and were reward with the JOY of their salvation.
We in America don’t get it, too much religion and compromise with the world. We need to become like children and get down off our high horse; “I know but…etc.”
Thank you for sharing this story.
Hey, ladies!
akaGaGa: Yes, I reacted the same way! In America, the gospel is marketed, and it makes me so angry! Yet still, there are genuine conversions going on; there are people who are really living for God here. Sometime soon I will blog about missions in the U.S.!
Carol: I am so sorry you had to wait a few hours to see the whole thing!! I wish I could have split it into two or three videos. I am glad you benefited from it.
OMG! This story is truly wonderful and amazing! What a hunger those people had for God! Would that we all had that kind of desire to seek Him, to live for Him!
Thanks for an amazing Inspiring Story!
