A few months ago, my sister sent me the link to the official LIFE magazine story, “Go Ye and Preach the Gospel Five Do and Die” on GoogleBooks! I myself tried to find it for a while, so I was very happy to at last have the article! So I decided to post the link here (click the title to the article above) for anyone who might want to read it. The print is quite small, so you will have to zoom in with the magnifying glass tool. The article has quotes from the men’s journals, pictures, and maps. It’s pretty much the same material that is in the book, Through the Gates of Splendor, but I had always wanted to see what the original news story looked like in 1956.
