My Mom told me I should write a post…
… so here I go.
Story goes, at approximately 6:30, I was totally exhausted (again). Working in the kitchen (again) I said in a very silly voice “I think I’m going to lose it” and laid my head on the table. So Mom suggested, “Maybe you should write a post.” I poked my head up, “What?” She continued, “You should write something, do something normal that will help you relax.” A grin spread out over my face and I proceeded to spit out the idea that came into my head at that moment. So here it is for you all.
What I spent my day doing: Weeding (LOTS). And also: squishing bugs; washing and putting away dishes (do this every day); harvesting and washing chard, lettuce, spinach, and kale; making a salad; telling everybody where everything is (do this every day, too); hanging laundry; general cleaning of kitchen (yep, do that every day, too); telling my cat how cute, sweet, and beautiful she is (yep, do that every day, too). And I watched the videos on Courageous Blog. Brightened my day. Guys in the background are funny.
So that’s the big basic stuff of what I did today. There were lots of other little things, too, like walked up and down the stairs, blew my nose, swatted flies (my weary hand missed), opened the garage door and realized I needed to go the other way, changed a dirty bathroom towel, etc. etc. But I took a shower, too.
And now I am even MORE exhausted!
Wondering exactly how exhausted your poor Other Alice is? Well, you know how exhausted you are after you’ve had a really big project over the weekend? That’s how I have been. Every day. Of the last. Four. Weeks. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz…
Today, I got to have a little relaxing time before the sun went down! That’s a real plus!
And to all of you who may have been missing The Other Alice in her blogging absence: thank my Mom.
Five minutes later: Aaaah… now I’m doing something really relaxing. I’m listening to a new song I discovered through Jay’s Music Blog: Greatness of Our God sung by Natalie Grant.
P. S. If you do not want to read my woes but rather somebody’s inspiring story, go to this page a friend referred to me a while ago, but I just never got around to making it my own Inspiring Story here on As In a Mirror. It’s about Corrie ten Boom.
LOL! It’s funny how much it can seem like you do when you list all the little things too! I think I might just try this out. Let’s see: I flipped the “on” switch on my computer, moved the mouse to click on a user name, then moved the mouse some more to click on the internet icon, then clicked sign on, signed into my blog, saw Alice had a post, clicked on it, read it, and now am leaving my comment. I just accomplished more than I though I did!
Anyways, I understand your woes, but I’m sure glad you came around. I’ve really missed hearing from you. And glad I was able to help cheer you up.
I for one am REALLY REALLY glad that you know where everything is.
Hang in there. We knew this project would be stressful. XOXO IT WILL BE OVER SOON IT WILL BE OVER SOON.
Glad you wrote a post.
Y’all got me laughing all over again! Whew!
Touches my heart, Jay. I see you have been very busy, too!
Thanks for the encouraging word, and your welcome, Mom.
Weeding! I do lots of that, too!! And laundry! And cleaning up after small dogs that make a mess as fast as you can clean it up! As a matter of fact, that reminds me that I have TONS of weeding to do… And I haven’t seen those Courageous videos yet… I’ll have to watch them! But I really enjoy looking at the pictures… I’ve practically already bought my tickets to see Courageous when it comes out! (Well, actually tickets aren’t on sale yet…)
How’s that for random?! I hope you can get some rest soon! And I know how you feel about the weeding! I spent hours clearing weeds out the other day. And there are so many more, I wonder if it is possible to keep it up. But at least I have plants, too, like spinach, tomatoes, and lettuce! And I haven’t had to water the garden for weeks due to the rain! LOL
Lol, Renee! Nice to know somebody else out there understands the weeding thing! I really don’t know if even a movie like Courageous could make me walk into a theater… I am just waiting for the home DVD!!
And that is a very good point; when you are done weeding, you look back and there are still some plants left!
WOW! I should try this! Sometimes, I feel like I’ve been running around in circles all day… maybe if I actually listed everything — including the small things — it would make me feel like I actually accomplished something!
And if blowing one’s nose counts, I have MANY points in my favor for last week (runny nose)!
I don’t blame you for being exhausted; you’ve been working on the renovations and you have all the “normalities” of life to deal with as well. You’re a busy girl, but you know, you’re a very good worker!
Keep up the good work!
Oh, Dear Miss Szymanski, I am SO sorry about your poor nose! I, along with some others in my family, have been sneezing like crazy because of the dust in the house! (I dusted, the Living Room today, BTW.
) Thanks for your encouragement and support. Some days I become very aware that somebody’s praying for us.
Otherwise, we couldn’t survive!
