I have been experimenting and studying a little (or a lot) in the art of photography. It’s kind of a hard subject to work with if you have an older digital camera, but I was able to take a rather lousy picture and perfect it! About a week ago, I had just lit a little candle in a new stained-glass candle holder, and it looked so pretty I had to get a picture. Or forty. I just wasn’t satisfied; the lighting, focus, and color just weren’t right! I even moved it into another room to try to get it just right. Now, we do not have the most beautifully tidy house, so I was also disappointed with the background. But with Paint Shop Pro, here is what I was able to do:

And this is after:

Thank you, thank you! You may stop clapping. Yes, I removed all the ugly blemishes on the table, too! Isn’t the little bear cute? Looks so homey.

Speaking of home, I thought I would share (yes, another) Hillsong song I found. It is called My Home. I didn’t know Marty could play the piano! I have no idea which album it’s on, but how beautiful! (that group has got a great bass player!) I started to cry. There are so many songs about Heaven that talk about a place with no sorrow and suffering, but here is a song about the desire to be in the presence of the Lord FOREVER! Would you listen to it and see if it doesn’t have the same effect on you?

  1. Wow! That is cool how you got rid of the ugly spots on the table. And I love that song. Their songs are so powerful.

  2. Oh, great… I accidentally erased my own comment before posting…

    Well, let me try again.

That is a great song! Did you know that Marty wrote it?

How cool that you are into photography! I LOVE photography! (as you can probably guess from the pictures on my blog!) We have Paint Shop Pro, too, but I haven’t really figured out how to use it. I look forward to seeing more of your beautiful photography!

  3. Brickster: Why thank you! That’s not the only effect I did, either ;) You are right, Hillsong’s music is powerful.

Renee: Yeah, such a beautiful song; I had to maximize the video to see the bottom of the screen that said Marty Sampson wrote that song! I remeber when I first heard Hillsong’s music, I REALLY loved it, but I thought that since it was a worship band, the people must be older than most Christian artists. Wow, I am really prejudiced towards the younger generation, even though I am among them! God bless those young people who are on fire for God.

Oh, yes I could tell that you love photography! I can’t tell you how much I LOVE the beautiful pictures you post! I think my own stuff can’t compare with that!

My Mom is really smart with computers and art, it was from her that I learned most of this stuff, though I am still VERY ignorant!

P.S. I am SOOO sorry, but I totally forgot about your Memorization Marathon this week! I have not been feeling well for some time, unfortunately it has been accompanied by memory loss. I will make up for it! I am really excited about reaching the 26 chapter goal with you!

    Thanks to y’all for commenting!

  4. What a great job, and what an apt post title! Not only won’t I believe your photos, I won’t believe anybody’s!!! :)

Hmm … I guess I’m going to have to look into Paint Shop Pro.

  5. I saw the first photo and my heart sank: UGH what ugly tablepads!! Thx for erasing the blemishes! HEE!

I am not a very good photographer. I think I may have an eye for balance and symmetry, but I am too impatient to learn ALL those frustrating buttons and bangles on the cameras!

Nice photo. I hope to see more. :D

By the way– Renee, if you want, I have a book called Paint Shop Pro for Dummies that you may borrow (NO offense!! Lol– I got it for ME). It’s for PSP version 8, but it could apply for any of the versions. Feel free to shoot me an email if you want it.

  6. Hi Alice,
Excellent job! I have Paint Shop Pro 9- infact, that’s how I made my blog header! You really did make that table look beautiful!

P.S. Sorry I haven’t gotten around to commenting lately- I have been extrememly busy, but today is sort of a “day off”!
