Reflections with Alice Episode 2: For the Young Ladies :)

Hey, gals! This second installment in the new Reflections with Alice (that’s me) Series I made just for you. :) Take a peek, if you would; leave a comment, a thought, whatever, but be encouraged!

Here’s a very basic summary of what I said:

There is a saying among the Christian community addressed toward the girls that goes, “My prince is coming.” Now, I wanted to read a couple of Scriptures that talk about princes for y’all. The first one is Psalm 118:8: “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes.”
Then we have Psalm 146:3: “Do not put your trust in princes, Nor in a son of man, in whom there is no help.”

So, a thought from me is just don’t wait around for a prince. They can’t deliver us; they’re mere flesh and blood like us, who are totally dependent on the breath of God in them.

I’d like to encourage you that the Lord is enough for you. And I know that it’s not quite the same as some one who’s literally here, with faults and failures just like us. But He is so great that He humbles Himself to behold the wonders in heaven and earth that make us marvel and go “wow!” And He promises to be enough for you; He has such a perfect, tender love for you in such a fathering way. He designed you and knows you, and He’s jealous for you!

Remember as well that if God does have a prince for you, still, only the Lord is worthy of your total trust and worship. Men are just not big enough; God made men to be strong for women, but they are not strong enough to support the total entrustment of your self. Put your trust in the Lord now, and if that prince comes, he won’t have to fear falling under the weight of your trust, because it’s in the right place.

Remember that our ultimate purpose here on earth is not to chase our dreams and be so great that God takes pleasure in us, it is to live solely for the glory of Christ! That’s the purpose of your life, just to bring glory to Christ, and just think– there is nothing more noble, more of a privilege, or more freeing than that!

So, don’t believe you have to think you have to please people, esp men, or live waiting for a prince. There will be real trials for us, as flesh and blood down here, but He really will be enough for you.

I’d like to encourage you to read through the Psalms; when you examine the nature and the character of God, you just are awestruck and captivated by it. And you will learn that He is Lord over all, He is tenderly kind, He is keeping you. So trust Him, young ladies, it’s better than waiting for a prince.

I am glad that you addressed this topic. Many young Christian women take the wrong path when it comes to men. They are so swayed by a man that they leave church and walk away from God.

I hope that it encourages single Christian women. Good wisdom!!
