Reminiscing Summer
Whew! We got our first snow of the year yesterday, not much for so late in the year, but that’s OK with me! It means there is less to shovel.
Funny thing is, yesterday I was also doing some more photo-editing, and realizing that often the pictures I take do not look at ALL like what I see when I take the picture. I end up having to EDIT it to make it look like the ACTUAL image! Here, I will show you.
This summer I took a photo of a beautiful orange lily by our arbor in the secret garden; I’m not sure what it’s called but it was SO beautiful! I had to get a picture, but this how it came out:
Blaaaaaahh. No depth of color, no nothing that communicates anything like what I really saw. So I put it into Paint Shop Pro X, and this was the result:
Tadaaaaaa! Now THAT is more like it! Ain’t it purdy?

Wow! That is gorgeous! (Could it be a tiger lily?) I LOVE vibrant colors! That’s one thing I love about photography– the beauty you can capture in pictures!
The funny thing is, my camera accentuates orange! I take a picture, and anything orange pops right out of the picture! It took a little while to get used to it!
And I know exactly what you mean about pictures looking different on the camera than in real life! Happens all the time…
I love photography… you make me want to post some of my own.
And I’m glad to hear you’re starting to feel better!
See you soon.
That’s beautiful! I have the same problem with taking gorgeous pictures- they never come out good! I think I’ll have to try Paint Shop Pro next time
Well hello, people! At the times you commented, i was writing that HUGE post that now proceeds this one.
Renee: Hey, maybe it is a tiger lily! Oooo, I look forward to seeing your photography! We’re all starting to get the bug!
Jay: I totally understand. I’m not much of a geek, but it is amazing what you can do with a simple photoshop program!
I think it’s an Asian Lily and you’ve made it glow in neon orange!!!
It must be the Canon camera– the colors do look washed out. It’s why I got the Kodak. Nobody beats Kodak when it comes to color. Except Paint Shop Pro.
Rebecca: That must be it! I have a Kidak camera and orange pops! Sometimes everything looks more vibrant through my camera than in real life!
Ooo! An Asian lily… did I forget? How could I forget something so simple?
Wow; I have a REALLY corny joke here: Canon really blows it with color.
O…..k…..
er… I meant to say a KODAK camera… LOL
