Walking home a few days ago, I spotted a bumper sticker that said “Abortion hurts women.” Honestly, this may be true. But… here, let’s break this down.

What is abortion defined? The killing of unborn babies. Call it “terminating pregnancies” if you will, but that is a nicified term for killing babies in the womb. Plain and simple. First there’s a baby, then there isn’t. There is no nicey way around it.

Now read that bumper sticker this way: “Killing unborn babies hurts women.” Uh, yeah, and killing babies hurts babies, too.

Why is it that people can no longer defend right and oppose wrong just because it is right or wrong? Why do they no longer stand up for principle? Why do we have to wait until we know that killing babies hurts women to oppose killing babies? What is the logic behind that? Do people really only care about their touchy feelings, about themselves? How utterly insane beyond what I am able to say, that MURDER suddenly becomes worthy of prohibition only when it bruises somebody who has the advantage of voicing their discomfort. I heard of a woman who survived an abortion– the kind where a saline solution was supposed to eat her alive in the womb. Can we not stand up for the oppressed who are too fragile and too weak to speak for themselves, just because their suffering is UNJUST? Because it is WRONG?

Of course, the question arises, “Who defines wrong?” The Creator of the universe defines what is wrong. The Creator created the material and the immaterial; the material is the things that we see, and the immaterial is things such as the laws of nature. And He let us know what He thought about what is right and wrong, too. Not convinced the Creator exists? You got some homework to do. Sorry, but it’s true. If you don’t believe He exists, you need to do some thorough research to see if you’re right.

My Mom brought up this point a while back ago when she heard of how when Moms stay at home to raise the kids, they benefit from being with their kids; therefore, because the mother benefits, staying at home with the kids is good. Uh…. what? Moms stay home with their kids to help themselves? Read what she had to say in her own words here.

So here I am applying the same principle to a bumper sticker. My Mom done raised me upright! :D (It’s SOO fun to say that). Surely we aren’t the only ones this occurred to?

  1. Principles were never terribly popular, because they are never convenient. But truth is truth.

“Those are my principles, and if you don’t like them… well, I have others.” -Groucho Marx (hee hee)

  2. Hm. Sad and hilarious at the same time, Mother! You’ve said this numerous times before; guess I’m still larnin’. :D “It’s a great BIG stupid wo-or-orld!”
