Your Cordless Optical Mouse Batteries are critical!!!
I think not!
See, I have this nice little battery-operated cordless mouse. When the batteries are just about run out, a little window will show up telling me they are “critical,” that is, “it’s time to change your batteries.” Or at least that’s how it’s supposed to go. You see, that little window has been showing up for three days and my mouse is still going strong! YAAARRR!!! >Critical, my foot!< I'll betcha the mouse company's in cahoots with the battery company. Really, a little window shows up on my computer screen saying its time to change the batteries to my mouse. I think I'm just gonna wait till they're dead to throw them out; isn't that logical? “Oh! My computer says it’s time to change the batteries! Better do it RIGHT AWAY!!! Computer said so!” Haha! I think NOT! I don’t have a stubborn Scottish heritage for nothing! Haha!
All right, I admit I am a little over-enthusiastic, but, eh, I’m still right, right?
WHAAAAAANT WHAAAAAANT WHAAAAAAANT!! It’s the battery police! Coming to see why you haven’t heeded your computer!
I get the same thing. Except… my mouse usually conks out TWO seconds after the critical message!! I use a corded mouse, now. No annoying messages.
Been there, done that! (Well, with other things anyways…)
It always annoyes me when my mp3 player says that the battery is completely dead, yet it still has plenty of power left. GRRRR! I feel your pain, really I do
Thank you for including a link to my Missionary Talks podcast.
I too am miffed about the mouse/battery issue. My low battery light was flashing for 4 days before it finally died and I replaced them on Monday. Makes me think my computer locked up when the mouse suddenly does not work.
Rebecca: LOL! That’s almost what you’d expect to hear! I’m glad you don’t have to be bugged by those messages anymore.
Jay: Oh, I believe it; happens to me too!
DPeach: Oh, you are welcome. I have learned a lot through your posts and podcasts. Thank YOU for doing what you do. (Very funny about the mouse!)
That little mouse is smarter than you know. He knows you don’t have batteries on hand — you will have to make a trip to WalMart to pick up a pack — if you remember. Then it may take a day or two to remember to install them. Maybe that’s why you get a foyr day warning.
Wow. I never thought of that. Actually, I never did give much credit to mice of any kind for brains. And I always like to be prepared; ALWAYS have batteries on hand.
Then again, why doesn’t it just tell me “You are going to need new batteries in four days. Better go to the store and get some more!” ? Gosh. If I meet anyone in the mouse-making business, I’ll ask them
